It's Summer and you don't want to spend time doing your hair. I get it, the sun is calling you and your calendar is filling up fast. You don't want to spend more time than you have to to keep your hair healthy and beautiful.
During the warm summer months we tend to put caring for our hair at the bottom of our list, we tend to be busier and want to make the most of our warm weather. We live in Canada after all and most people would say we only have 8 weeks of summer so you know it's short. Unfortunately in that short time the heat, sun and wind as well as pool water, lake water maybe even ocean water, and you cant forget our own sweat and sunscreen products ALL take a toll on our hair. You need the best, most simplified Summer haircare, I've got you covered.
When you want to spend as little time and effort as possible on your hair and still have healthy, beautiful hair try some of these options.
Get a haircut! Yes, take the time now before you get too busy to get a haircut. Cutting off those dry ends now will help prevent split ends and breakage during and after the Summer months. Request an appointment.
Next I'd invest in a good quality shampoo and conditioner. Washing your hair is the one thing you're going to likely do on a regular basis even when you are Summer busy. Talk to your professional Hair Stylist about the right shampoo and conditioner that will gently cleanse and keep your hair hydrated. I recommend Colour Awakening Hairbath & Colour Radiance Daily Conditioner or Hydrating Cream Hairbath & Hydrating Cream Conditioner depending on your hair needs.
Depending on your hair texture you could use a leave in conditioner, especially if you are spending a lot of time outdoors. I really like Sweet Spirit Leave In Conditioner, you can spray this in on wet or dry hair and even use it to refresh a curly hairstyle. If you are not a fan of leave in conditioners use a styling product that includes hydrating ingredients in it. This works especially well if you have curly hair. Something like Serenity Smoothing Cream or Quiet Calm Curl Control. Both will help keep your hair hydrated and offer some amount of curl control and reduce frizz.
Another great option is a dry shampoo. No time to wash no problem, a dry shampoo will work to prolong your style and absorb some oils from your scalp. Refresh Dry Shampoo is best used on day one to give you longevity and absorb the most oils from the get go. Apply to wet or dry hair.
For some fun and quick solutions add accessories! Find some cute clips, headbands and scrunchies to add to your ponytails and braids for beach days and nights out. Check these out!
Another simple solution: Protect your hair from the elements, find a hat you love and wear it!
There you have it, your simplest Summer haircare. I hope you found this helpful and that you try one or all of the above. Most importantly enjoy your Summer :)
